The Water and Flood Awareness Instructor (AWI) pathway enables the candidate to deliver the classroom-based Water and Flood Awareness course.
Prerequisites: Swiftwater and Flood First Responder (2 days) First aid qualification, appropriate for the environment in which they will be working. Minimum age: 18
Instructor training and assessment: Water and Flood Awareness Instructor course (1 day)
Qualification valid for: 2 years Able to teach following course: Water and Flood Awareness (AW)
The Swiftwater and Flood First Responder Instructor (SFRI) pathway is designed for teaching personnel with a swiftwater and flood capability up to first responder level.
Prerequisites: Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician (SRT) First aid qualification, appropriate for the environment in which they will be working. Minimum age: 18
Instructor training: Swiftwater and Flood First Responder Instructor training (4 days)
Instructor assessment: Swiftwater and Flood First Responder Instructor assessment (2 days)
Candidates are expected to further develop their personal skills and knowledge between their training and assessment courses, following an individual action plan outlined in the training course debrief.

The Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Instructor (SRTI) pathway is designed for emergency services personnel or rescue training professionals who will be teaching clients who need a swiftwater and flood response capability.

The Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Advanced Water Instructor (SRTAWI) pathway is designed for emergency services personnel or rescue training professionals who will be teaching clients who need a swiftwater and flood response along with a night/poor visibility capability in advanced river or flood environments.

First aid qualification, appropriate for the environment in which they will be working.
Experience in delivering Rescue 3 SRT courses.
Instructor training and assessment: Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Advanced (Water) Instructor training and assessment course (4 days)

The Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Advanced (Water and Rope) Instructor (SRTAI) pathway is designed for emergency services personnel or rescue training professionals who will be teaching clients who need a swiftwater and flood response along with a poor visibility and high angle rope rescue capability in a river or flood environment.

The Whitewater Rescue Technician Instructor (WRTI) pathway is designed for river professionals and outdoor instructors. It is designed for teaching whitewater rescue techniques. Those needing to teach a flood rescue capability should take the Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Instructor course.
